Kranium 2008 – revisited

Kevin was kind enough to point out that the next World War would actually be World War 4, not 3. Apparently 3 was the Cold War. My bad. Also, the idea that anyone would actually use massive nuclear armaments is apparently highly unlikely, due to the fact that most everyone who has them understands the detriment of using them, which is to say that any tactical engagement tends to happen due to the possibility of benefit or reward, and massive nuclear strikes never give enough reward for the amount of trouble they cause.

On the other hand, Kevin also pointed out that a war in the Middle East would be complicated as soon as anybody set foot (or shell) upon any land formerly occupied by Russia, who would then retaliate. That is, World War 4 is just as possible as Milton and Kranium imply, only there are more players involved than previously mentioned.

This would be an excellent time to say that, if you are for somehow a fan who doesn’t agree with the politics as laid out in this non-episode, you may want to check out factcheck.org to see a non-partisan account of how the two sides lie about each other. You’ll notice that most of the entries are about McCain. This is not because Factcheck.org are a partisan institution, but rather because McCain Lies More. A fact I find distressing, as I had a lot of respect for the man, pre-2006 or so.

Also, it’s true many states demand you be registered to vote 30 days before an election. This deadline is coming up very, very quickly. So if you’re still looking to register, head to the internet. Vote411.org is an excellent non-partisan resource that’ll get you started. Voting is free. Voting is your duty as a citizen. Voting means you get to complain when things don’t work out in your favor. Voting is important.

Were I not drunk on the political process already (or perhaps on the whiskey it takes to deal with said political process) I’d probably give a shout-out to Virginia voters in the 5th District regarding how crucial it is to vote for Tom Perriello. But there will likely be an entirely different post on the matter. So we’ll just skip it for the time being.

Anyway. Real episode next week. Provided we’re not too depressed about the state of the world. Or blown up.

I am contemplating creating a new blog category for “scripts not used,” due to the five or so pages of unused dialogue generated for this episode. Don’t know whether this would be a welcome addition or not. Will probably try it just the same.

Also, am seriously contemplating a YouTube exclusive episode that is essentially this episode made specifically for the VA 5th District. Because there’s a whole lot of material I wanted to use that I ended up cutting because a) the episode was already running long, and b) because the 5th District VA is a very small percentage of the demographic of the main videos.

If it happens, believe it’ll be posted here in the blog, even if it isn’t in the main show player.
