The stars are aligning and I find myself back on stages for the first time in a long time.
FIRST UP: SLAMWICH.
That's right, after Michael asking me basically every time I went to Black Cherry when they'd see me back in a slam, I finally remembered an act I tried once at a Doppelscope show ten years ago and promptly forgot about. Cardboard Animal Trainer! Where I create a cardboard animal on stage based on an audience suggestion and make it do tricks until it turns on me.
Brought the idea to DragonCon where I am happy to say I had more fun than I've had on stage in a very long time. Pure chaotic fun improv energy and the best audience volunteer I could have ever asked for.
And this Saturday, doin' it two more times. Tickets may already be sold out, because the Black Cherry Slamwich does not fuck around. Still, if you're in Baltimore, give it a shot, the early show probably has some tickets left. blackcherry.org
NEXT UP: EDGEWISE
Way more details about Madame Edgewise Tells Your Fortune are up on the show page, knowsalltellsall.com. But suffice to say, I'm finally doing the full-length version of the show that started way back in 2019 as part of the Object Movement Festival. Taking this rough concept from 15 minutes to 40 minutes has been… interesting, and I think I finally figured it out a few weeks ago (don't tell Charm City Fringe I didn't have a plan when I applied). I've got seven pages of monologue to memorize, I've got Tarot card flash cards to go through, and I've got to figure out my make-up, all in about a week.
So instead I'm writing a blog post. I am, truly, Gen X.
Anyway. Tickets for Edgewise are available from Ticketleap yonder. Gosh it'd be nice to see you.
LAST THING: DECKS
And as long promised, the Edgewise Tarot is finally an actual product you can actually buy! Sixty bucks US, shipping included. More details over there. This is a very limited first run because I wanted to get them in time for the Fringe, so if you miss out, check in with me, I would not be surprised if I do a bigger run in future. Maybe with an actual pre-order crowdfund campaign. Probably with a few revisions to the art, because I already changed the design of one card post delivery, and there's another one in my sights for a bit of touch-up. Art is never done until it's taken away from the artist, and so far, this deck is still a process. So.
Okay, that's a blog post done. Byeeeeeee.
